Creativity and design have shaped my life from the very beginning. My father was a corsetry designer and my mother a shoe designer and commercial artist, so I grew up surrounded by imagination, craftsmanship, and colour.
I studied Textile Design at Leeds University in the early 1970s and later applied those skills in an unexpected way. In the early 1980s, I purchased a well-known rosette manufacturing business and transformed its production methods from handmade techniques to innovative semi-automated systems — processes that are still used throughout the industry today.
After raising my two children and exploring many different paths, I found myself working within the space industry during the late 1990s, an industry I continue to enjoy as a consultant.
My return to art began only recently, when a local village art club encouraged me to pick up a paintbrush again. Although I initially felt unskilled compared with the talented artists around me, the encouragement I received inspired me to continue experimenting with watercolours and decorative painting.
What began as quiet experimentation soon evolved into my first collection of designs.
